Herb Butter: Mix finely chopped Coastal Rosemary into softened butter, along with a bit of minced garlic, lemon zest, and salt. This herb butter is perfect for spreading on bread, using to baste grilled meats, or melting over roasted vegetables.

Seasoning and Marinades: Finely chop Coastal Rosemary leaves and mix them with olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and salt to create a flavourful marinade for chicken, lamb, or fish.

Roasted Vegetables: Toss vegetables like potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, and parsnips with olive oil, chopped rosemary, and some salt and pepper before roasting them. The Coastal Rosemary adds a delightful buttery sage and rosemary flavour to the dish.

Grilled Meats: Sprinkle Coastal Rosemary over meats like pork, beef, or chicken before grilling. It imparts a wonderful smoky and aromatic flavour to the meat.

Soups and Stews: Add some Coastal Rosemary to your favourite soups and stews. Remember to remove the woody stem before serving. Coastal Rosemary pairs well with tomato-based soups and bean stews.

Baked Goods: For a unique twist on bread, try adding finely chopped Coastal Rosemary to your bread dough. It complements rustic bread and focaccia especially well. Coastal Rosemary can also be added to savoury scones and biscuits.

Coastal Rosemary should be used sparingly, as its flavour can be quite potent. Start with a small amount and adjust to taste.

Store in an air-tight container, in a cool dark place.

Antioxidant Properties: Like many plants, Coastal Rosemary contains antioxidants, which can help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. Antioxidants are thought to play a role in reducing the risk of chronic diseases, although more research is needed to understand the specific antioxidant compounds in Coastal Rosemary and their health effects.

Potential Immune System Support: Traditional uses of Coastal Rosemary suggest that it may have been used to support the immune system. This could be due to its antioxidant and potentially anti-inflammatory properties, which may help the body’s defence mechanisms function more effectively.
